Small Business Plan within Pre-Paid Legal

6 12 2009

First I would like to apologize for the week I missed in posting.  I was ill and had no energy in which to post a blog.  As it was, if I did manage to type anything, after review it was rambling and did not provide useful information.  I am now feeling more human, and will build my list of articles in advance, so if I do get sick again, there will be a log of articles scheduled for posting.

As promised two weeks ago, today we are going to briefly review the Small Business Plan within the Pre-Paid Legal Services Plan.  I had mentioned the benefits of Pre-Paid Legal – they have preventative legal services (consultation & advice, letters & phone calls, contract & document review and will preparation), Motor Vehicle Legal Services, Trail Defense Services and IRS Audit Legal Services.  How nice would it be if you could extend those legal services to your small business, or home based business?  That is what the Small Business Plan does for members.

There are three types of Small Business Plans available to members in most states (some states have restrictions, please contact me if you have specific questions).  There is the Business Plan which is for the for profit business that is not publicly traded and has less than 100 employees.  If you have 3 or fewer employees, there is a plan called the Home Based Business Rider, and there is also a plan for a business that has less than 9 employees (Legal Plan for Self Employed).

Within all of these plans, you are able to have legal telephone consultation regarding your small business, you can have legal correspondence (depending on the plan you can have anywhere from 3-unlimited letters per month written on your behalf), you get a contract review for at least 3 contracts or documents per month, you get at least 3 debt collection letters written on your behalf a month, you also qualify for business Trial Defense, IRS Audit Protection on your business and for non-covered services, 25% discount for other services.

What I find extremely helpful with the Small Business plan is the ability to access a site called GoSmallBiz.  This is an awesome site that provides a ton of information for the Small Business Owner.   In this site you have access to information on how to start a business, a template to write a business plan, there is tax and accounting information available at the click of the mouse, and all kinds of legal, HR, and marketing information available.  If you can’t find the topic you have a question on, you can pose the question and expect a response within the next business day.

This website is an absolute awesome resource for anyone in business, it is like having various specialty departments available to you without having to hire the experts.   It is great to have this kind of information available 24/7 so you may not lose as much sleep over an issue.  This site has saved my rear on several occasions, I found out what I should and should not do before stepping into the fray.  I have always considered this essentially “legal insurance”.  You carry medical insurance for the unfortunate events that may occur medically, why not carry “legal insurance” for events that will definitely occur legally.

Once you start using this benefit, you will wonder how you ever managed your business without it.  If you would like more information on this and other Pre-Paid Legal Services, please go to www.hawgwash.us.  Otherwise, please feel free to contact me at hawgwash1@yahoo.com

Until next week…

Pre-Paid Legal Services – Second Income

21 11 2009

As promised last week, this week we are going to briefly review the Second Income Opportunity (actually opportunities) offered by Pre-Paid Legal Services (PPL).  You may think it would be very difficult to offer Pre-Paid Legal Services to the people you know, but actually it is quite easy.

How many people have you talked to that has complained about being taken advantage of?  How many people may have agreed to some form of a contract, either written or verbal, only to find out they ended up on the short end of the stick?  Do you know anyone who does not have an up-to date will, or no will at all?  What about someone who has received a speeding ticket?  Or if their car is damaged by a hit-and-run driver?  These are the people who you can very easily discuss Pre-Paid Legal with.  There are several plans available in most states that would help people like I mentioned above.

These plans are paid monthly, the people you talk to do not need to pay a year in advance, nor are they held to long contracts.  In several situations, once they sign up for a Pre-Paid Legal plan, they are immediately able to call for a phone consultation on an unlimited number of matters, and if necessary, the provider attorney can either write a letter or place a phone call on an unlimited number of personal issues.  How many of us would have loved the opportunity to call an attorney when you suspected something didn’t feel right, but didn’t have ready access to an attorney, and especially didn’t want to pay the hourly fees for a phone consultation?  I know this would have gotten my butt out of hot water many times if I had it years ago.

I could go on about the various items that are contained within the Pre-Paid Legal Plans, but will only cover the six areas that are covered under the Life Events Legal Plan:  Preventative Legal Services, Motor Vehicle Legal Services, Trial Defense Services, IRS Audit Legal Services, 25% Preferred Member Discount and Legal Shield.  If you want more information on any or all of these items, please feel free to contact me at hawgwash1@yahoo.com.   Pre-Paid Legal also has an awesome Identity Theft Shield that people should not go without, especially since it is only $9.95 per month extra.   I could go on about how great this is, but again, if you are curious, please contact me at the above e-mail address.

All right, now that we have determined it is pretty easy to present the Pre-Paid Legal income opportunity to someone, what is the incentive to you to present?  By signing up someone for the Family Plan and the Identity theft, you stand to earn almost $35.00 commissions.  That is neat because you don’t have to carry any inventory and you are providing services to people who will thank you for getting them involved.  What is even better is again, you don’t have to collect a year’s worth of membership, just collect the first month and the $10.00 one-time enrollment fee.   Most people should have no problem paying monthly for immediate legal protection.  You do need to let them know that PPL will not cover pre-existing legal conditions, and if they have a traffic issue related to alcohol or anything illegal, PPL will not represent that issue under the Motor Vehicle Legal Services section.

As you can see, this is a very painless way to work on that second income you have always been looking for.  How many people do you know that could use legal representation?  Each of those people could mean extra money in your pocket.  If you can get some of those people involved in selling PPL also, then you are definitely on your way to creating personal wealth.  This program does not take a lot of money to get started, and it only takes a few hours each week to get off the ground.

What I like best is that you get to help other people by providing a service that gives more value than the money they are using to purchase it.  It would be very rare that you would get someone complaining to you that the attorney helped them out of a sticky situation, and they were unhappy.

This discussion could continue for a long time, there is a lot of information that I glossed over regarding the various PPL Plans.   If you want to see more, please go to www.hawgwash.us.  If you have specific questions, please e-mail me at hawgwash1@yahoo.com.

Next week I will review the Small Business Plan offered by PPL and how it can also continue to earn you a second income.

Second Income-Pre-Paid Legal Services

16 11 2009

Tonight we are going to briefly discuss another Second Income opportunity, Pre-Paid Legal Services.  This is an awesome program, it is essentially legal insurance (like you have medical insurance).  What is really great about Pre-Paid Legal is that all associates must utilize the Pre-Paid Legal services and if you want to sell other options, you have to take certification classes.

I like the concept of certification classes because Pre-Paid legal wants to verify that what you are offered is done correctly, without misleading statements or false promises.  Pre-Paid Legal (PPL) has been listed on the New York Stock Exchange for over 30 years now.  In a recent press release by “The Motley Fool” Analyst and Contributor Anand Chokkavelu, PPL was listed as one of 20 undervalued small cap company stocks.   On October 30th of this year, PPL was also named as the 4th highest rated stock in a recent ranking of the 3,500 largest US stocks by Joel Greenblatt, a leading investment strategist.  Obviously, this is a company that is going to continue to be around for the long haul.

PPL offers many different types of legal plans, ranging from plans for the individual, family, business (more on that next week), insurance and financial, and Commercial Drivers Legal Plans.    PPL also has a fantastic Identity Theft protection plan along with a Legal Forms iPlan.  You would be hard-pressed to not find a plan that would be a good fit for anyone.

The nice thing about the PPL Family Plan is that you receive access to professional legal counsel for traditional legal issues, but also you receive access to legal review for contracts (if you want to lease a vehicle, they can review the lease before you sign on the dotted line) you can get your will created or updated annually.  Basically, this is a plan to allow you legal access to your most typical legal needs.

The second income opportunity comes in with you sharing this plan with others.  There are many people out there who could easily use relatively easy access to a lawyer.  How many times have you had a question that you would have loved to ask a lawyer, but didn’t want to pay the minimum $200 / hr fee just to as a question?  That is really how easy it is to show somebody the Pre-Paid Legal individual plan.  The only catch to the plan is that you cannot get someone signed up for Pre-Paid Legal services and that PPL offer services on a pre-existing condition.  They will not retroactively take care of a problem.

The good news for someone offering PPL is that almost everyone has a horror story regarding a legal problem.  It is not hard to talk about legal problems, court issues, contract disputes.  The neat thing about being a PPL Associate, is that you can offer to the other person an opportunity to basically have legal assistance on-tap at all times.  It is better than medical insurance because you don’t have to pay to ask a legal question or have some documents (there are page quantity limitations) reviewed before you sign anything.  If you have to go to a doctor, you still have a co-pay to deal with.

We have had the opportunity to use Pre-Paid Legal on several occasions, and the peace of mind you have, knowing that you have legal representation at your back is awesome.

Next week I will continue discussing the Pre-Paid Legal services Second income opportunity, going into a little more detail on how you can make money offering PPL plans to others and if time permits, I will discuss the Small Business Legal plan that is offered by PPL.

If you want to find out more before next week, please visit the website, or feel free to contact me at shootershakes@aol.com.  Talk to you all next week.
